Hayden Panettiere (Melbourne & Brisbane)
Hayden Panettiere was born on 21st August 1989 in New York, and at just 11 months old, she appeared in a TV commercial and has been acting ever since - appearing on over 50 commercials and 20 TV shows. A string of impressive guest turns led to recurring roles on Ally McBeal (as the title character's long-lost daughter) and Malcolm in the Middle, as well as her first leading film role in 2005's Racing Stripes.
Her film credits include Remember the Titans with Denzel Washington and Joe Somebody with Tim Allen. Other roles include the voices of Dot in Disney's A Bug's Life and Kairi in the widely popular video game Kingdom Hearts II.
Then in 2006, she donned a cheerleading outfit and held the fate of the world in her hands as Claire Bennet, one of the superpowered stars of Channel Seven drama Heroes, and to popular and critical acclaim including the 2007 Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actress and the 2007 and 2008 Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Actress (Drama and Action Adventure).
There will be more of her to come when she stars as the lead in I Love You, Beth Cooper (due for release 2009), Hoodwinked 2: Hood vs. Evil (2010) and Alpha and Omega (2010), which also stars Christina Ricci, Justin Long and Dennis Hopper.
Hayden's other passion is the conservation and protection of whales and dolphins. She is the spokesperson for the International Conservation Campaign, Save The Whales Again, and last year received the prestigious Wyler Award at the Humane Society's Genesis Awards ceremony, an award given annually to a celebrity who gets personally involved to bring public attention to animal causes.
