As mentioned, this is our first volley and you can expect more announcements as we get closer to the dates of the conventions.
Likewise, for Sydney (June 26-28) and Perth (July 3-6) fans, you can expect initial guest information around the beginning of 2009.
We'd also like to take this opportunity to thank Madman Entertainment, EB Games, JB Hi-Fi and Domino's Pizza for already having committed to partnering and sponsoring Supanova towards new heights across the four conventions in 2009 and Manifest and AV-Con for the first tour of Melbourne and Brisbane.

What's Supanova All About?
September 2008: Believe it or not, we get asked that a lot. Some people refer to us as a Sci-Fi show, an anime event, a comic-book convention, a gaming expo and lots of other things too. Realistically we're all of the above "and then some" too!
But why believe us when so many others have chosen to tell our story for us? So in the grand tradition of pictures saying a thousand words here's a few films about us through neutral organisations and then our very own coup de grace at the end.
Enjoy and see you next year...

"IT WAS THE BEST OF TIMES,
IT WAS THE WORST OF TIMES"
04/07/2008 As with most things in life our joy at our first ever Perth event running so successfully, with over 7,800 fans attending, was tempered as we heard of the sad news of comic-book maestro, past guest and genuine good guy of the industry, Michael Turner, having passed away after a decade long fight with cancer. Tragically young our thoughts go out to his beloved Kelly, best pal and business partner Frank and his family.
The news obviously had an affect but at the same time we recognised the need to celebrate Michael's talent and to give credit to the wonderful job the Supanova team did in bringing the event to Perth. Without the support of the local Perth sponsors, exhibitors, fans and volunteers, for the smooth running of the event, it just wouldn't have been possible. So we marched on and can only thank you Perth and WA in general!
And so ends the first chapter in Supanova's newly created north-south, east-west calender with nearly 40,000 fans attending across the four events in 2008. Highlights include our inaugural Melbourne and Perth events, breaking the 10,000 barrier in Sydney and Brisbane setting the standard yet again with our highest yet attendance. Special mentions include Jewel Staite being our first guest to attend all four cities, Sean Schemmel for a record enhancing sixth Supanova tour of duty and Jarod Padalecki for breaking all records as fan favourite!
We look forward to doing it all again in 2009 and thank you once more for making Supanova in 2008 a total blast!
Yours in fun,
Daniel Zachariou
Supanova Event Director
