Ms. Craig began her theatrical career as one of the youngest members of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo. In typical Hollywood tradition, she was discovered for movies while having dinner in a Los Angeles restaurant and made her film debut opposite John Wayne’s son, Patrick, in The Young Land.
Quickly followed many years of film and television including two movies with Elvis Presley (It Happened at the World’s Fair and Kissin’ Cousins), the role of Marta (the green Orion slave girl) in Star Trek’s Whom Gods Destroy as well as originating the role of Batgirl in the Batman TV series, for which she is best known.
Because of interest shown by fans met along the way, Ms. Craig wrote a book of anecdotal memoirs, From Ballet to the Batcave and Beyond. You can visit her in person at these two conventions or online at her website at www.yvonnecraig.com
With the resurgent interest in things of the 60s and the Batman series in particular, it’s been great fun for Ms. Craig to travel periodically around the country appearing at nostalgia and comic conventions and catching up, not only with fans of the old show, but also meeting their children who are now watching it in reruns.
She is looking forward to returning to Australia for the 10th anniversary of Supanova and cant wait to meet new fans and see old fans as well.
