Jerome Flynn (born 16 March 1963) is an English actor. He is best known for his role as Paddy Garvey in five seasons of the popular drama series Soldier, Soldier. Whilst filming this series he and co-star Robson Green filmed a scene where they had to sing the song Unchained Melody. Impressed, record producer Simon Cowell convinced them to release the song commercially. They went on to enjoy a period of musical success as Robson and Jerome between 1995 and 1999. Following this Flynn went to play in musicals and on stage.
Flynn provides the voice of Daniel (the hound) in the children’s television show Tommy Zoom. He also appeared on the television programme So You Think You’re Royal?, where it was established that through his mother he is a direct descendant of Oliver Cromwell, through his son Henry Cromwell, and also a descendent of Edward I, Edward II, and Edward III of England.
In Game of Thrones Flynn plays the role of Bronn. He was confirmed in the role on 16 July 2010. He initially appeared as a guest star in the first season and joined the starring cast for the second season.
Flynn stars alongside Matthew Macfadyen in a series for the BBC, Ripper Street: a BBC TV series set in Whitechapel in London’s East End in 1889, six months after the infamous Jack the Ripper murders.
