Jason Franks sold his first published short story in 2001. Since then his work, in prose and comics, has been published in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK.
He is best known for the graphic novel The Sixsmiths, a religious satire which was published by Slave Labour Graphics in 2010, and for the McBlack series, which is published by Black House comics. Franks’ occult rock’n’roll novel, Bloody Waters, was published in October 2012.
Although he is primarily a writer, Franks has also served as a penciler. As editor of the Kagemono horror anthology series he was the first person to publish DC/Image Comics rising star Justin Jordan (Strange Talent of Luther Strode).
Franks has worked with many of Australia’s most talented creators, including Bruce Mutard, Bobby N., J. Marc Schmidt, Jan Scherpenhuizen and Paul Abstruse. He is currently working on a sequel to the The Sixsmiths, a new McBlack volume, and several other comics projects with artists both local and abroad.
Jason looks forward to meeting all his fans at both the Gold Coast and Melbourne expos in 2013. He will be appearing Both days between 11 am and 5 pm.
