Jaimie Alexander hails from Greenville, South Carolina, where she started acting while still in primary school… but just for fun! By high school, the novelty of dramatics wore off for Jaimie when she found couldn’t sing, so she took up sports for a while instead. She was destined for fame, however, and picked up a movie role in ‘Squirrel Trap’; this was soon followed by guest appearances in ‘It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia’ and ‘Standoff’. Juicier castings followed in the movie ‘The Other Side’ and ‘Watch Over Me’, until Jaimie scored leading roles in thrillers like ‘Rest Stop’ and ‘Hallowed Ground’. She soon found guest-role popularity in small-screen gems like ‘Bones’ and ‘CSI: Miami’, and as the wild-child little sister of Edie Falco’s ‘Nurse Jackie’ in the eponymous series.
Jaimie’s star shone in the ABC [USA] TV series ‘Kyle XY’, in which she played a girl with superhuman powers trying to find her way in the world, with the friendship (and eventual romance) of male counterpart Kyle. Jaimie’s portrayal of Jessi generated a large fanbase hoping to see a spin-off show for her character.Even bigger things were in store for her, however: Jaimie soon starred as the goddess Sif in the big-budget blockbuster ‘Thor’, directed by Sir Kenneth Branagh, and has now charmed her way into the hearts an minds of millions of filmgoers worldwide.
Jaimie looks forward to meeting all her fans at both the Melbourne and Gold Coast expos in 2012. There are signing* and photo* sessions throughout each Saturday (10.30am to 5.30pm) and Sunday (11am to 5pm) excluding breaks and there’s a general admission Q&A each Sunday.
