After eight years working as a yacht captain delivering boats from Chicago to Barbados and everywhere in between, Hugh Howey was finally lured away from the sea by the girl of his dreams. Sequestered in the mountains of North Carolina, he directed his energies into a childhood fantasy of writing soaring adventure stories. His first series, The Molly Fyde Saga, won endorsements and awards from bestselling authors and bloggers. But it was his publication of Wool and the four stories that followed that gave him the freedom to quit his day job and write full-time.
Picked up in 20 countries, and with the film rights going to Ridley Scott, Wool has appeared on the New York Times bestseller list and has been as high as #1 on Amazon. Random House is publishing the work in the UK and
Australia, and Wool has also been picked up in the United States in a print-only deal with Simon and Schuster. He now lives in Jupiter, Florida with his wife Amber and their dog Bella.
Hugh looks forward to meeting all his fans at both the Gold Coast and Melbourne expos in 2013. He will be appearing Both days between 11 am and 5 pm.
