Eliza Dushku was discovered at the age of 10, when she went along with her brother to a commercial audition, tripped on the stairs, turned into an drama queen and came to the notice of the casting agents. In the 1993 film “This Boy’s Life” she was cast as Robert De Niro’s daughter and it was a role that she said opened a lot of doors for her. In the following year, she played Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis’ teenage daughter in “True Lies.”
After high school, her foray back into acting was with the role of Faith in “Buffy: The Vampire Slayer.” Though initially planned as a five episode role, Faith (and Eliza) became so popular with the fans, cast and crew that she stayed on throughout the whole of the third season. She has made guest appearances in both “Buffy” and it’s spin-off “Angel” throughout the rest of their runs.
In 2000, she starred with Kirsten Dunst in the cheerleading comedy “Bring It On” which was a surprising success at the box office! She has since starred in a varied range of films such as “Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back,” “Soul Survivors,” “The New Guy” and in the Robert De Niro drama, “City by the Sea.”
Dushku has landed starring roles in a number of video game productions. She voiced the role of Yumi Sawamura in the English language version of Yakuza for the PlayStation 2, which was published and developed by SEGA, and released in September 2006. Dushku also stars as Shaundi, one of the lead characters in both Saints Row 2 and 3, which was developed by Volition and published by THQ. She also was the voice talent for the role of Rubi Malone, the main character in the game WET.
Recently Eliza was offered the lead role in Joss Whedon’s sadly short-lived series Dollhouse. For two jam-packed seasons we followed the trials and tribulations of Echo and her compatriots in the Dollhouse, before the series ended to great fan disappointment. Dushku has since provided her voice for Noah’s Ark: The New Beginning, Torchwood: Web of Lies and Catwoman in The DC Animated film Batman: Year One. As well as appearing in the 2012 series “Leap Year”, she is also set to provide the voice for She Hulk in the upcoming series “Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.”
Eliza looks forward to meeting all her fans at both the Melbourne and Gold Coast events in 2013 where she will be in attendance on both days of each event. There will be at least one publicly accessible Q&A Session on each weekend.
